The back of the book

Exploding watermelons, curious pigs, sneezing baby pandas, mystery objects falling from the sky, internet addiction, online dishonesty, and (of course) internet cats.

Welcome to Videotelling – a teacher resource book which outlines a completely novel approach to using video content in the classroom.

The book consists of 45 immersive stories, each of which is based on the narrative of an authentic online video.

The interactive stories have been written to capture the imaginations of learners of all ages, everywhere. They are designed to be told by the teacher in the traditional way. This means that technology takes a back seat and viewing of the video comes later.

Stories are accompanied by ready-to-use tasks and activities which show teachers how to get students listening, thinking, speaking, writing, collaborating, problem solving and creating videos and stories of their own.

Videotelling is beautifully illustrated and designed for a great reading experience. An accompanying website provides links to all videos.

"Each story I read got my creative juices flowing. Jamie has taken his self-confessed YouTube obsession and spun gold with some fantastic and truly memorable videos. It’s not often that you pick up a book on something that is really quite so refreshingly new."

Read Review

"Reading this book is like reading a punchy novel, full of endless cliffhangers that keep you turning the pages. This is the first book I have picked up where I can’t wait to try out every single activity and find out how the students will react."

Andy Starck
